Approximately 12 miles off the east coast of Majuro, Arno Atoll offers a quick escape unlike any other in the Marshall Islands. Arno, with its traditional lifestyle and pristine environment, offers agricultural, marine and handicraft-making tours, a 20-mile biking trail from Arno Island to Ine Island, fishing is never a difficulty and can be easily arranged, as with diving, in nearby Majuro. Arno Atoll makes for magnificent diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, surfing (seasonal) and general sightseeing.
Interesting Arno Facts
The name Arno itself translates as waves from the lagoon.
The Longar area in Arno is famous for its 'love school' where young women were once taught how to perfect their sexual techniques.
People of Arno are well known for their productivity in making copra.
Arno women are renowned for their production of the Kili Bag, a popular handwoven handbag/purse
The waters off Longar Point are known for superb deep-sea fishing, where yellowfin tuna, marlin, mahi-mahi and sailfish abound.
